Elementary Devotional Guide
Here is a quick devotional idea for engaging with your kids this week at home.
- Share some highs and lows from the day. In our family we often say good things that happened and things that could have been better. Parents get to share, too!
- Read a story from the Bible. You are welcome to read any story. Some examples to get you started might be...
- Peter’s escape from prison (Acts 12)
- Jesus healing a paralytic man (Matthew 9:1-8)
- Jesus feeding the 5,000 (Matthew 14:13-21)
- David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17)
- The Creation story (Genesis 1)
- Talk about the story and connect. Does anything in the story relate to your highs and lows? What lessons can we learn from the story that relate to our lives?
- Pray for one another within your family. Make sure to say a prayer of blessing over each person.
Feel free to add in additional elements that fit well for your family. This might include listening to some worship music, reading a devotional together (Love Does for Kids by Bob Goff and Indescribable: 100 Devotionals about God and Science by Loui Giglio are great places to start), and/or engaging in a more extended prayer ministry time.
