KirkcCare will be hosting a Food Box event at Greentree Church for food-insecure families as the summer months begin. (Many kids lose their free breakfast and lunch at school in these months and we want to help!) They are asking for 170 donations of each item. They will package all the items together for these families.

We’ve signed up as a church to provide:

1. 170 packages of Pancake Mix
2. 170 bottles of Syrup.

Gan you help us meet this goal?

You can participate in a couple ways:

• Bring in pancake mix and syrup to VCC by Sunday, June 8
• VCC will count the donations and transport them to KirkCare.
• Partner with the staff to shop for any needed extras and deliver to Kirkcare.
• Contact the office if interested!

A note from the KirkCare about how financial donations are used.

"Routinely, for the last year, I've reported that Kirk Care serves 140 families each month. This April, we served 204. That is a 47% increase. Believe me, watching the food fly off the shelves confirms this fact. Since we are a non-perishable pantry, we augment each delivery or shopper with a voucher to Schnucks--$40 for a single person and $10 more for each additional person in the family. So... a family of 4, gets a voucher of $70 along with non-perishables. Our voucher amount alone was $9700 for April."
