We have all watched as the troubling events have unfolded in Afghanistan in recent weeks. Many have wondered how they can help. We have partnered with Oasis International to help welcome Afghan refugees into our city who are fleeing the very dangerous situation there. THANK YOU to everyone who signed up to donate cleaning supply items for our welcome baskets. We will be assembling these next week and delivery will begin! Household and personal cleaning supplies can get quite pricey, so these items are often neglected in favor of necessities like food or utilities. Thank you for participating in this small way to meet a need while also showing these families the love we have in Jesus, who welcomes us all.

It may seem intimidating to drop a gift like this off to a family that you don't know, but in our experience, refugee families are incredibly welcoming and gracious, even if there is a language barrier. So few of them have regular encounters with Americans, so it's a great opportunity to show love the love of Jesus to a stranger. We encourage you to pray about this opportunity! You could even team up with a friend or another family. We don't have a specific date yet as Afghan families will be coming in over the next several weeks. When you sign up, we will put you on a list to contact when there is a new family to deliver a basket to.

You can bring these items to the church and we'll get it to them. Their very most needed items currently are pots/pans and pillows as well as used (but working) electronics and sporting equipment for teens!
