VCC Pastoral Transition 2026

The final installment of our Pastoral Transition!

Announcing our new Pastoral Leadership Team

We're excited to announce the formation of the new Pastoral Leadership Team: Caleb Chou, Emily McCall and Dannielle Strassner. Beginning with their Installation on July 18, they will lead the church together in co-equal community to hold the mission and work of the church through shared discernment, equipping the whole body to practice pursuing God’s will together so we can all grow together in moving every person toward Jesus. Submit questions any time: for more clarity you are welcome to submit questions.

May: Gaining Clarity & Understanding

Join us in getting ready for our new pastoral leadership by making sure that we understand the changes that are being made (and what is staying the same!) We've collected resources here to help remind you where we've already been in the transition, and to clarify where we're heading next as we install our new leaders in July.

Step 1: Get up to speed

resources from 2024-2025

resources from the pastoral leadership Team announcement (April 26)

See video of the Announcement on Sunday, April 26 (if you missed it!) And check out the FAQs below, along with a closer look at the Leadership Structure that was shared that evening.

Step 2: Reflect and ask questions

You can submit questions any time with the red button below. Someone from The Transition Team and Pastoral Council will reach out to respond.

Step 3: Hear Responses

We'll be gathering all of your questions and prayerfully deciding together how best to respond to them at these Q&R Events. Plan to attend one of these gatherings to hear responses to the questions you asked...and probably some you didn't think to ask!

  • Sunday, May 17, 12:30pm: Q&R 1 - lunch after service
  • Tuesday, May 19, 7:00pm: Q&R 2 - dessert

We don't anticipate being able to respond at these Q&R's to every question submitted! But, we will work to respond another way to those with less common questions.

Weekend with David Hughes: May 30-31

David Hughes, our consultant/mentor from the Transforming Center

In addition to hearing him teach that Sunday morning, May 31, we have two other events for you to consider:

Getting Ready: Navigating Change Well

A workshop to explore what you want to carry into this next chapter of our church.

Saturday, May 30, 9:30am - 1:00pm

Lunch included, ask us about childcare

Register Here

How do you know if this workshop is for you?

1. You feel a pull toward deeper participation in this community and are ready to take a hopeful step forward — even if past hurts have held you back.

2. You are looking forward to what's ahead at VCC and want some tools to engage these changes in a meaningful, healthy way.

3. You have a complicated relationship with change and want some support in getting ready for this next chapter together in the church.

4. You are reluctant to engage with these changes at VCC, but know God is nudging you toward doing so.

Lunch with David Hughes

An opportunity to hear more from and ask questions to our consultant and mentor from the Transforming Center.

Sunday, May 31, 12:30pm - 2pm

BYO Lunch, no need to RSVP

More to follow in June & July!

We'll continue to update this page as we have more to share and invite you into. We'll also start working soon on Season 2 of the VCCLife Podcast, so stay tuned for that!
